The Salem City Municipal Corporation has expanded its citywide cleanliness campaign with intensified sanitation operations across residential neighbourhoods, marketplaces, bus stands, and other public spaces. The initiative focuses on improving waste collection efficiency, maintaining cleaner streets, and promoting better public hygiene.
Sanitation workers have increased door-to-door waste collection while officials continue monitoring segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste at the source. Public awareness activities encourage residents and commercial establishments to participate actively in maintaining a cleaner environment.
The Corporation is also carrying out desilting of drains, clearing accumulated waste, and improving waste transportation systems to reduce environmental pollution. Officials have appealed to citizens to avoid littering and utilise designated waste collection points.
