Salem district police arrested a man accused of allegedly harassing multiple women through social media and video calls before circulating private recordings without consent. According to investigators, the accused allegedly gained the victims’ trust through online interactions before using recorded content to intimidate and harass them.
Following complaints from victims, police launched an investigation and recovered electronic evidence during the inquiry. Multiple legal provisions relating to cybercrime, harassment, and privacy violations have been invoked against the accused. Authorities stated that digital forensic analysis is continuing as part of the investigation.
Police urged citizens, particularly young people, to exercise caution while sharing personal information or private content online. Officials also advised victims of cyber harassment to report incidents immediately rather than responding to threats or blackmail attempts.
