Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election, the Salem District Election Officer convened a consultation meeting with representatives of recognised political parties to review election preparedness and reinforce adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.
During the meeting, officials explained nomination procedures, campaign regulations, expenditure monitoring, polling arrangements, and grievance redressal mechanisms. Political party representatives were encouraged to coordinate with election authorities to ensure peaceful campaigning and compliance with Election Commission guidelines.
Election observers also participated in the discussions, emphasising transparency, fair competition, and strict enforcement of electoral rules. Officials assured participants that all complaints related to election activities would be investigated promptly through established mechanisms.
The consultation forms an important part of the district’s efforts to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections while maintaining public confidence in the electoral process.
