Transport Minister Distributes New Family Cards to Salem Beneficiaries

Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Transport participated in a government welfare programme in Salem district where newly approved family cards were distributed to eligible beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System (PDS). The initiative aims to ensure that deserving families receive timely access to subsidised food grains and other essential commodities through fair price shops.

During the programme, district officials explained the procedures for availing benefits under the state’s food security schemes and encouraged beneficiaries to utilise digital services for future updates. The Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening welfare delivery and ensuring that public services reach eligible households efficiently.

Officials stated that the issuance of new family cards would help improve access to food security benefits while simplifying the administration of welfare schemes. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the streamlined verification and distribution process.
